Meet Mr. Minkus. He's a Cat.
Meet Mr. Minkus
Scraggles appears.
Back when the world was young and things were different there appeared a kitten.
While most kittens come from cats, or shelters, or warm baskets, this one didn't.
He came out of a dirty tire.
Why he was in a tire, we may never know. But we heard a tiny, "meow" come from a stack of tires. When we looked inside, we saw a tiny black and white kitten with a pink nose.
He was a friendly kitten, but he was dirty. His tail wasn't a nice tail. It looked like a black rat tail. It was scabby and had little or no fur on it.
The tiny kitten loved people. He was their friend. He would come up, say hello, and climb into your lap.
Claws out. Up your leg. Into your lap.
And then he would help you type, or read, or whatever you needed to do.
He was called things like Scruffles or Scraggles or Scraggle-Kitten.
Unfortunately, a tiny, friendly kitten shouldn't be wandering around a tire store. He got stomped on.
Twice.
So, he came home. Riding my shoulder. Like a parrot to my pirate. Arrghh!
We learned, after he loved everyone, that his scaly tail was a sign of ringworm.
Everyone had ringworm. We even sent ringworm to another state with my sister.
Once we cured everyone's ringworm, the kitty's tail began to grow fur.
He became a beautiful, long haired cat.
He named himself Minkus. We don't know how. Or why. Or When. But he became a Minkus. He is soft and sleek like a Mink. That may have something to do with it.
He slinks around corners. That, too, may have something to do with it.
He wears a tuxedo. Every day.
He's my Minkus.
